It is believed that the word dulcimer was derived form the Greek word “dulce” which means sweet and the Latin word “melos” which means song.
Ish is delighted to share his knowledge about the Dulcimer so that Children and/or Adults can learn about the roots of the dulcimer from its early beginnings in Europe to modern day North American. A participatory and educational cross-cultural history, methods, photos, and demonstrations using Ish’s Appalachian dulcimers!

From dogs and apples to bizarre hats and a variety of things only an active imagination can produce, Ish enthusiastically shares the joy he has for the art of balloon sculpting.
With his off-the-wall animated story-telling, his gentle clown nature and a set of lungs like superman, this workshop has proven to be an hilarious, participatory and unforgettable learning experience anyone of any age will enjoy!

Drawing from his many years of experience as a professional Clown, Ish provides a unique key to a better understanding, application and appreciation of this wonderful profession.
With the use of visual aids such as: mounted 11x14 photos of past and present clowns, complete mak e-up box and clown props, Ish shares an insightful look into the history, personalities, talents, costumes and make-up that best describe the Clowns of yesterday and today.
It's an educational and fun event, and after there is a Question & Answer session at the end of the Workshop. The best part of it is, everyone goes home with a brand new Red Nose of their own!

Songwriters’ Cafés have been happening at festivals forever and have always proven to be a great success for they enable the artists to intuitively connect with each other and with the audience in a more interactive and relaxing way.
Cafés can be constructed around many different themes such as Songwriting and Lyrics, sharing the inspiration behind how the song came to be or what the song means to the artist now, and many more. This is a unique opportunity for the audience to experience.

The Professional Stage: 3 or 4 professional songwriters share the stage with Ish, each performer taking their turn doing his/her segue as well as their songs as other performers and the audience join in as able.

The Rising Star Stage: This stage can promote and provide the opportunity for 3 or 4 local, up-and-coming artists to showcase and share their joy and talent. It also enables the artists to learn from each other, and get positive audience feedback.

And, Ish's Favorite: The Tiny Talent Time Stage - featuring local children singing, dancing, or playing an instrument.
